Priorities and Commitments
Economic Development
A large majority of Waveland's commercial business districts are right here in Ward 2. New businesses, large and small, are the heartbeat that keeps Waveland alive. Generating additional tax revenue will add to the city coffers and will allow the city to provide new recreational amenities for its residents, to maintain infrastructure, and improve the quality of life throughout the city. I will actively seek companies to bring their businesses to Waveland.
Public Safety
We are fortunate to have a dedicated and professional police and fire department. These brave men and women deserve our support and gratitude. Providing these departments with the training and equipment to keep them at the top in their field, and to retain them here in our city, is something that I feel is extremely important, for their safety and the residents in all neighborhoods. Finding funding, through grants and allocations through the budget process will be a top priority of mine.
Community Involvement
There are so many great things our city offers. From the beaches, to shopping and dining. To events, activities, and parks and recreation. Promoting our greatest assets and attracting new events is something I feel we can improve on. Letting residents and visitors know what is taking place and when is very important. Be it the notifications of city meetings, how to take part in events, such as Neighborhood Watch and festivals, etc. and encouraging attendance will make Waveland even more successful. I will make it a point to communicate these activities through email, Facebook, and my website to keep everyone updated and involved.
